What is Dimming?
Luminetworx™ PoE Lighting Dimming Feature reduces the output of a lamp or lighting fixture. The output of a lamp or lighting fixture is measured in lumens (lm) and is sometimes known as its “luminous flux”. As a result when a lamp or fixture is dimmed its lumen output decreases.
CAN PoE LEDs BE DIMMED?
Yes, all Luminetworx™ PoE LEDs can be dimmed. All PoE LEDs need a driver, which is a piece of electronics. Its main function is to run the PoE LEDs at the correct voltage and current, converting the PoE power supply to, usually 12 or 24V DC. This is necessary because PoE LEDs don’t operate on power mains. LEDs work at low voltages on direct current.
In commercial lighting fixtures, such as PoE LED panels, downlights and spotlights, the PoE driver is separate from the fixture. All Luminetworx™ PoE fixtures are dimmable by use of the PoE light switch, motion sensor, mobile app or web portal.
In some PoE LED lamps the driver is built-in and cannot be accessed. The PoE LEDs and driver come as a single sealed item. This is not the case with the Luminetworx™ brand PoE lighting. All fixtures have a seperate driver that is not integrated into the fixture allowing for a more reliable installation.
Luminetworx PoE Lighting Dimming
Luminetworx™ uses PWM (pulse wave modulation) to dim the lights. By using PWM we are ensuring that we use the most energy efficient method of dimming available. This means that whenever you dimm a fixture and reduce the illumination you are also reducing the amount of energy being consumed by the fixture. All fixtures can dimm from 10-100%.
Our solutions are ideal for any type of environment commercial, industrial and residential, including single family homes, condos, and townhouses.
