“In accordance with today’s laws and universal fire code, when a fire or other event triggers an alarm on the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP), an unidentified alert is sent to Central Station to dispatch the fire department. Very little information is available to the first responders. Almost nothing is provided to the building management.”

Problem 1: “Unidentified alert” … not really, most of the addressable FACP output is meaningful, the problem is there is no one around to read it, and when you read it , it’s usually too late 🙂

 Problem 2: When it goes through Central Station.. then it always will be this way (very little information) and to my knowledge FD is not expecting anything besides information WHERE is an alarm.
